Cheese-Workshop
The numerous communities of microorganisms are front and center in the cheese-making workshop. Based off the concept developed by Sissel Tolaas and Christina Agapakis, discover firsthand how microbe- rich our foods and bodies are intertwined. Explore how the same bacteria structures that are inherit to us are also found within cheese cultures, how these function, what smell they produce and possibly what taste arises from these combinations. The workshop will take place in collaboration with the Milchhüsli beider Basel in Allschwil. Places are limited, registration via: info@kbhg.ch.

Plankton Workshop
During the workshop inspired by the work of Riikka Taurianen and Meike Vogt you can dive into and marvel at the diversity of phyto- and zooplankton from the Mediterranean Sea. Listen and discuss with Marta Musso – a plankton expert and science communicator. Learn about planktonic anecdotes, their fate due to anthropogenic climate change and draw their features as you see them from under the microscope. Salm Ethos - FULLY BOOKED!
The newly commissioned interactive theatrical performance «Salm Ethos» presented by artist Michelle-Marie Letelier and marine biologist Karin Pittman highlights the interconnectedness of humans and the environment as well as the ethical implications of salmon as a global commodity.
